Our Mission & Vision

The objects for which the society is established are :

1) To promote activities for the prevention of retardation and handicaps.

2) To provide for treatment, education and rehabilitation and generally for the advancement care and welfare of the handicapped i.e., the persons affected by any of physical handicap and/or mental retards.

3) To collect, organize and disseminate knowledge related to privation, treatment and rehabilitation of the handicapped and mentally retarded from various nation and international sources.

4) To represent the handicapped in various educational and cultural activities for the improvement of their social and cultural life.

5) To establish and maintain centres for Special Schools, Residential Schools, Work centres, Training centres and activities as the society may deem fit.

6) To promote, conduct and engage in experimental work so as to promote the prevention of the handicapped and to be of benefit to the handicapped.

7) To promote research activities and in particular to conduct research/surveys on mental retardation and handicaps and to conduct studies in the prevention and management of the handicapped.

8) To provide therapeutic services along with or independently of special educational facilities.

9) To set up and run sheltered workshops with a view to carrying out specially designed programmes of training, employment, and work adjustment for the mentally Retarded and handicapped and to market to products.

10) To provide economic assistance, social, paramedical and medical services conductive to the amelioration of the condition and place in life of the mentally Retarded and the Handicapped and for the purposed and in collaboration with the facilities of such individuals, the medical profession or other institutions with similar objects.

11) To train teachers and therapists in the special methods and techniques for proper educational and therapeutic intervention.

12) To affiliate itself with such other recognized or charitable society with similar objectives and for the purpose to execute and carry into effect all such deeds and instruments whether relating to the transfer of property, assets, funds and benefits or otherwise as may be necessary or advisable.

13) To organize seminars and conferences, to appoint panels, committees and study teams and to take such other actions as may be considered expedient for stimulating interest in the disciplines connected with the Mentally Retarded and the handicapped and ailed condition and for promoting and conducting survey or research directed to the development of special services.

14) To accept any gift, grant donation, subscription or fee towards raising any funds for the purpose of the society.

15) To receive aid in cash or any gift or movable property (including money0 or immovable property.

16) To represent the society in National and International conference of committees for the furtherance of aims and objects similar to those of the society.

17) To encourage the handicapped in the works of T.V, Radio, Homes and village industries’ schemes for their self dependence.

18) To do all such other things as may be deemed incidental or conductive to the attainment of the foregoing objects.

Barjora Ashar Alo has been a catalyst in transforming lives of the disabled population of the locality through its focused efforts weaved in its social development programs which have been detailed separately.
